Polri Ready to Provide Assistance in Case Handling for Trade Ministry's PPNS
The visit was led by the Head of the PPNS Supervision Division of Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Edy Suranta Sitepu, along with senior officials from the PPNS Supervision Bureau of Bareskrim Polri, on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Brigadier General Edy Suranta and his entourage were received by the Director General of Domestic Trade, Moga Simatupang, the Director of Circulating Goods and Services Supervision, Ronald Jenri Silalahi, and the Head of the Investigation Team of the Directorate General of Domestic Trade, Michael IJ.
Several matters were discussed during the meeting, including strengthening coordination, supervision, and assistance from Polri in carrying out the duties of the Ministry of Trade’s PPNS in law enforcement in the fields of trade, legal metrology, and consumer protection.
The agenda also covered several other important issues, ranging from the authority of the Ministry of Trade’s PPNS, online consultation and case deliberation services, adjustments to procedural law provisions, development of the E-PPNS application, to updates on cooperation documents between the Ministry of Trade and Polri.
On that occasion, Brigadier General Edy Sitepu stated that Polri, through its PPNS supervision function, is committed to providing assistance, supervision, and guidance to PPNS so that every law enforcement process runs professionally and in accordance with regulations.
“Polri through PPNS Supervision is ready to support the implementation of PPNS duties, from coordination, assistance, to support in case handling. The principle is that everything must run with orderly administration and in accordance with legal provisions,” said Edy.
Brigadier General Edy emphasised the importance of digitising investigation administration through the E-PPNS application. The system is expected to accelerate coordination processes, including the online submission of documents such as SPDP to prosecutors and police.
“Digitalisation is an important step to make the investigation administration process faster, more efficient, and accountable,” he added.
In addition, Polri also stressed the importance of orderly administration in every legal action, including searches and seizures, so that the law enforcement process is not hindered in subsequent stages.
“We hope this synergy will further strengthen the duties of the Ministry of Trade’s PPNS in maintaining market order, protecting consumers, and ensuring that law enforcement runs professionally and justly,” he concluded.
