Polri Hospital Requests Families of KRL Crash Victims in East Bekasi to Report to DVI Post
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Polri Hospital Kramat Jati in East Jakarta is requesting families of victims from the accident between a Commuter Line train and a long-distance Diesel train (KRD) at East Bekasi Station to report to the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) post. “We have prepared a post for the victims’ families. There, ante-mortem data collection will be conducted for identification purposes,” said the Head of the Police Medical Bureau (Karo Dokpol) of the Polri Central Medical and Health Unit, Brigadier General Police Dr. Nyoman Eddy, at Polri Hospital Kramat Jati in East Jakarta on Tuesday. Nyoman stated that this post is to assist in the identification process for victims of the accident that occurred on Monday night (27/4). “We are facilitating families of victims who feel they have lost family members following the accident that happened on Monday night (27/4),” Nyoman said. In addition, the ante-mortem data collected includes medical information, physical characteristics, and personal belongings of the victims. This data will then be matched with post-mortem examination results of the evacuated bodies. As of now, 10 body bags have been brought to Polri Hospital Kramat Jati. However, all victims have not yet been identified because the examination process is still ongoing. “All body bags are still in the examination stage. The victims’ identities are not yet known and will be confirmed through data reconciliation,” Nyoman explained. Meanwhile, injured victims were not referred to Polri Hospital Kramat Jati but were directly taken to several hospitals in the Bekasi area for medical treatment. “For the injured victims, they are all being handled at hospitals around Bekasi,” Nyoman said. To date, no bodies have been claimed by families because they are all still awaiting the completion of the identification process. The police assure that this process will be carried out professionally and in accordance with applicable procedures. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) stated that the death toll from the collision incident between the Commuter Line train and the long-distance train at East Bekasi Station, West Java, on Monday night (27/4), has increased to 14 people. KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin conveyed that based on the latest data as of 08:45 WIB, 14 people were recorded as deceased. The deceased victims have been taken to Polri Hospital Kramat Jati for further identification processes. Meanwhile, 84 injured victims have received medical treatment at various health facilities.
