Following the arrest of 321 foreign nationals (WNA) from an online gambling (judol) headquarters in Jakarta, Polri has emphasised that the measure prevents Indonesia from becoming a centre for international online gambling syndicates.

“Polri is committed to enforcing the law strictly so that Indonesia is not used as a base for online gambling syndicate activities or international scams,” said the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Polri Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, in his statement in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA on Sunday (10/5/2026).

“The eradication of online gambling is a shared concern because it is highly detrimental to society, both socially and economically,” he stated.

He emphasised that the uncovering of the online gambling case involving hundreds of foreign nationals is part of the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s Astacita programme in handling digital and transnational crimes.

“This is part of the ongoing and simultaneous law enforcement implementation carried out by Polri together with relevant stakeholders,” said Trunoyudo.

The 321 foreign nationals arrested in the Hayam Wuruk Street area, Taman Sari Subdistrict, West Jakarta, were transferred to several immigration offices on Sunday (10/5/2026).

The transfer was carried out to undergo further examinations and cross-agency coordination in handling the case.

“Today, the transfer of 321 foreign nationals to several immigration examination locations for further processing is being carried out,” said Karopenmas of the Polri Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, in his official statement today.

According to Trunoyudo, 150 people were transferred to the Immigration Detention House (Rudenim), another 150 to the Central Immigration Directorate, and 21 to the West Jakarta Immigration Office.
