Polish military bans Chinese-made vehicles from entering their facilities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Poland has introduced regulations banning Chinese-manufactured vehicles from entering the country’s military zones due to data security concerns.
Arena EV reported on Wednesday (18/2) local time that the ban was declared directly by the Polish military, as vehicles produced in China may use onboard sensors and cameras to collect sensitive data.
Although the vehicles are still permitted to enter military zones, authorities will restrict Chinese-made vehicles by first disabling certain functions or features deemed to pose a security risk.
Beyond military zones, Polish officials will also extend the restrictions to critical facilities, where Chinese-made vehicles will likewise be barred from entry for the same reasons.
Furthermore, military personnel will not be permitted to connect government-issued telephones to the infotainment systems of Chinese-made vehicles.
However, the restrictions do not apply to publicly accessible military facilities such as hospitals, clinics, libraries, and similar institutions.
The Polish military has confirmed that all measures have been taken in consideration of NATO’s high security standards and reflect the practices of other NATO member states.
