JAKARTA (JP): About 50 house foundations were laid and hundreds of people received free medical treatment during the police's two-week civic mission which ended yesterday.

The program cost about Rp 400 million (US$166,666).

The Dharmais hospital provided free health care under the program, including harelip operations for 20 people, cataract surgery for nine people and circumcisions for 80 children.

City Police Chief Maj. Gen. Hamami Nata marked the end of the program by checking the improvements in Cakung, East Jakarta.
