Police Urged to Swiftly Arrest DPOs in Alleged Fuel Misappropriation Case in Ogan Ilir
Jakarta, VIVA – Five suspects in the case of alleged fuel misappropriation, who have now been designated as Persons Being Searched For (DPOs), must be swiftly arrested by the police, particularly by the Ogan Ilir Police Resort.
The legal adviser for PT Indra Angkola, Edi Gustia Bahri, hopes that law enforcement authorities can promptly carry out the legal enforcement process in a professional, objective, and just manner.
“The designation of DPOs is an important step in providing legal certainty, not only for our company as the aggrieved party but also as a form of protection for a healthy business climate,” said Edi in his statement on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.
“We hope that the Ogan Ilir Police Resort, together with the South Sumatra Provincial Police, can swiftly carry out the arrests of the DPOs so that the legal process can proceed optimally,” he stated.
Edi assured that PT Indra Angkola will continue to adopt a cooperative stance in the legal process related to the case, including assisting by providing data and information needed by investigators.
“We are committed to supporting the legal process until it is completed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, while upholding the principle of transparency,” said Edi.
He also urged the parties designated as DPOs in the case to surrender immediately and take responsibility for their actions in accordance with applicable law.
It is known that the Ogan Ilir Police Resort previously designated five individuals as DPOs in several cases of alleged criminal acts of fuel misappropriation based on police reports throughout 2024-2025.
The five individuals are Arief Gunawan (29 years old), Rangga (34 years old), Wahdini (25 years old), Junaidi Riduan Putra (25 years old), and Hendra (37 years old).
The suspects are alleged to have violated the provisions in Article 374 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code regarding misappropriation, as well as Article 480 of the Criminal Code regarding receiving stolen goods, and it is not impossible that other relevant legal provisions in the oil and natural gas sector will be applied.
