Depok Metropolitan Police have uncovered a syndicate distributing illegal Schedule G drugs. In the operation, police arrested 13 suspects and seized evidence including tramadol, Eximer pills, and other Schedule G controlled substances, totalling 4,066 pills.

Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Depok Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Yefta Ruben Hasian Aruan, explained that the 13 suspects were arrested from various areas, including Tajur Halang, Pancoran Mas, Limo, Sukmajaya, Sawangan, and Beji.

“Police have dismantled an illegal drug distribution syndicate using methods where the perpetrators distribute drugs without permission, which has the potential to be misused by the public, especially among teenagers. A total of 4,066 tramadol and Eximer pills were seized, and the case investigation is ongoing,” he stated on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

He said that drugs included in “Schedule G” or controlled substances are one of the triggers for the increase in brawls, particularly among teenagers.

“Consumption of controlled drugs can provide euphoric effects and excessive self-confidence, making the perpetrators feel more daring to engage in violent acts,” he explained.

He stated that the police will continue to intensify enforcement and prevention efforts against the distribution of illegal drugs, especially in Depok City. This is carried out through various operations and cooperation with other institutions such as the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP).

“We will continue to conduct operations and collaborate with BPOM and Satpol PP,” he said.

He also urged the public to participate in eradicating the distribution of illegal drugs and misused Schedule G controlled substances.

“We emphasise the importance of the active role of the community in reporting pulse counter shops, cosmetic stores, or rented houses suspected as places for distributing prohibited drugs,” he concluded.
