Metro Jaya Police have scheduled the examination of a witness from PT Vinfast Auto in connection with the accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Tuesday (5/5) today. So far, Metro Jaya Police have examined 36 witnesses related to the deadly incident, ranging from victims and on-site witnesses to the Green SM taxi driver and the train engineer. “The witness to be examined on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, is from PT Vinfast Auto,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters. Budi stated that investigators have also scheduled a follow-up examination of the Green SM taxi driver for Thursday (7/5). “On Thursday, 7 May 2026, there will be a follow-up examination of Richard Rudolf Passelima, the Green SM taxi driver, along with the Forensic Laboratory Centre,” he said. Furthermore, Budi continued, on Friday (8/5), investigators have scheduled examinations of the southern supervisor and the signal chief to obtain statements regarding the accident incident. “(Meanwhile) those still in the process of being summoned are witnesses from the Directorate General of Railways: Agus Puryantoko, Catur Nugroho, Muhammad Arif Hosen, and Fajar Karisma Putra,” Budi said. The accident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and the Commuter Line KRL at Bekasi Timur Station occurred on Monday (27/4) evening. The incident resulted in 16 people dead and 90 others injured. The incident was triggered by the Green SM taxi stalling in the middle of a level crossing due to an electrical system failure. The vehicle was then struck by the passing KRL. As a result of the first accident, one Cikarang-bound KRL train made an emergency stop at Bekasi Timur Station. In the stopped position, the KRL train was rear-ended by the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek, causing the women’s carriage at the rear to be crushed and claiming the lives of more than a dozen people.
