Police to Fine Logistics Trucks Still Operating on H-3 Eid
TANGERANG — Police will fine logistics trucks that continue operating in the lead-up to the peak Eid 2026 holiday exodus. Enforcement is being carried out because these vehicles are banned from operating from three days before Eid.
“If they continue to violate the regulations, we will issue fines. Because if we remain lenient, it will contribute to congestion,” said Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Dekananto Eko Purwono when met at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Tuesday (17 March 2026).
He stated that today and tomorrow are predicted to be the peak of the holiday exodus, so his department will not tolerate vehicles violating operational restrictions.
“The Kancil team is a traffic management unit. So I have ordered all of them to deploy to help manage traffic congestion,” said Dekananto.
He added that congestion can occur even without visible obstructions on the road, so units need to be deployed to prevent longer queues.
“We’ve seen situations where it appears congested, but after that point it turns out there is no congestion. That requires teams to manage the flow,” he said.
Earlier, during monitoring by journalists at the location, Dekananto inspected the Eid Alert Post at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. He was accompanied by Deputy Executive Director of InJourney Airports (PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia) Achmad Syahir and General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi.
During the visit, Dekananto received a briefing regarding the surge in passengers heading towards Eid 2026. He also inspected security posts at the arrival gates of Terminal 3.
He stated that security will be focused on high-risk areas, both within the airport grounds and at passenger entry and exit points.
“All personnel have been put on alert to anticipate the surge in passengers and potential security threats during the Eid holiday exodus period,” he said.
Additionally, officers have been deployed to assist passenger services, including providing information and handling any issues that may arise in the field.
Dekananto added that inter-agency coordination continues to ensure the implementation of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 runs optimally.
“Synergy between institutions is crucial so the public can feel safe and comfortable during their holiday travel,” he said.
