Police Reveal Identities of Suspects in Acid Attack on KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Metro Jaya Regional Police have identified two suspected perpetrators in the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS). “We can inform you that the two individuals we presented earlier, based on police data, are one with initials BHC and one with initials MAK,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Iman Imanuddin, during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday. However, Iman explained that the investigation results do not rule out the possibility of more than four perpetrators, as per initial information provided. Iman added that based on statements from a number of witnesses who have been questioned, namely 15 witnesses. “From those statements and their connection to physical evidence, as well as leads we obtained both directly at the crime scene and along the suspected escape route.” Iman also stated that his side has opened a complaint service via hotline 110 and the number 081285599191 related to the case. “We have opened a service to the public to provide or convey information from those who know or recognise the images of the perpetrators we presented earlier, which can strengthen our statements,” he said. Iman also mentioned that his team is analysing other scientific evidence to support the process of uncovering the aforementioned case. National Police Chief General Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo assured that the police are continuously working to handle the acid attack case against KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus. “Yesterday, the President clearly ordered us to investigate thoroughly. Of course, the National Police is currently working on it,” said the Police Chief at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Field, Jakarta, on Wednesday. He said that the National Police through the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Regional Police is deeply examining 86 surveillance cameras (CCTV) at the crime scene (TKP). Nevertheless, the Police Chief emphasised that the National Police will not stop at CCTV recordings and will seek sources of information and other evidence. “Then we will combine everything to truly make this case revealed or at least brought to light,” he stated.
