Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Komisi Percepatan Reformasi Polri met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday to present the final report and recommendations from the commission’s work.

Based on ANTARA observations, the commission members arrived at the palace around 2:00 PM Western Indonesia Time, including Commission Chair Jimly Asshiddiqie, as well as members Ahmad Dofiri, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Otto Hasibuan, and Mahfud MD.

Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra stated that the visit was an agenda to deliver the final report to President Prabowo.

“We were invited by the President to present the final report from the work of the Komite Percepatan Reformasi Polri, which has been working for approximately two months,” Yusril said.

He explained that the report was compiled in various document formats, from summaries to thick manuscripts, to facilitate the President’s understanding of the substance of the recommendations.

“There is one that is 3,000 pages thick, one that is 300 pages, and also a three-page summary so it can be read quickly by the President,” he said.

“If approved, it will certainly have implications for changes to the current Police Law,” he added.

He further noted that the substance of the report would be explained in more detail by Commission Chair Jimly Asshiddiqie after the meeting with the President.

Meanwhile, Jimly Asshiddiqie said the report presented consists of several documents, but he has not yet disclosed the details of the recommendations.

“I will report later what is approved and what is not,” he said briefly.

Commission member Ahmad Dofiri stated that all commission members were invited to the report presentation agenda. He emphasised that the substance of the commission’s work results cannot be shared with the public before being submitted to the President.

“The commission works in accordance with the President’s mandate and the absorption of public aspirations,” he said.

“There are about 10 books, eight containing public voices and Polri’s plans, as well as two resumes,” said Mahfud.
