Police have formed a Law Enforcement Post (Gakkum) at the KM 125 rest area on the Purbaleunyi toll road in Cimahi, West Java, to prevent criminal disturbances during the return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. Approximately 20 personnel are tasked with sweeping the entire rest area used by returning holidaymakers. “In addition to the KM 125 service post, we have established one special post, namely the Gakkum post, as a precaution against criminal acts, especially in this rest area,” said Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra on Tuesday (24/3/2026). According to him, the personnel involved come from the Criminal Investigation Unit and Narcotics Unit of Cimahi Police. The personnel will carry out mobile patrols and dialogic patrols to vehicle owners. They are asked not to leave valuables in their vehicles. Niko explained that the Gakkum is formed to provide a sense of security and peace for holidaymakers resting there. “Yes, besides mobile patrols, our personnel certainly conduct dialogic patrols. So they check the condition of the drivers, whether the vehicle owners leave valuables in their vehicles or not, and then advise them to take them along,” Niko added. The Gakkum post, staffed by combined personnel, is placed at the back of the KM 125 rest area. This is because the back has an entrance gate in the form of a small door commonly used by prospective bus passengers and people from outside. “We have two entrances to the parking pocket in this rest area, so we set up two posts; the Gakkum post is at the back. We are narrowing the movements of suspicious individuals through public access,” said Niko. The KM 125 rest area has begun to be crowded with holidaymakers and tourists returning to their home areas after enjoying the 2026 Eid holiday. To anticipate density, police have prepared a selective open-close scheme if vehicle build-up occurs. Meanwhile, the Head of Narcotics Unit of Cimahi Police, Iptu Nuradi, stated that the patrols conducted by the Cimahi Police Gakkum Task Force have so far run smoothly. There are no indications of criminal acts or reports from the public. “Yes, we carry out patrols every day to anticipate criminal acts. So far, it is still safe, with no reports of criminal indications,” said Nuradi.
