Police Patrol Tangerang Coastline, Remind Vessels Not to Carry Excess Cargo
Police conducted a territorial patrol in Cituis Fishermen’s Village, Tangerang. Fishermen and ship crew (ABK) were asked to comply with regulations to maintain safety.
The territorial patrol took place on Monday afternoon (23/3/2026), led by Pakuhaji Sector Police Chief AKP Prapto Lasono, accompanied by Provost Unit Head Aipda Andhre Eka F and Community Guidance Officer Aiptu Abdul Hakim. He stated that there are around 300 vessels operating in the area, both for fish transport and tourist boats, so they must avoid excess loading or overloading.
“After Eid, there is increased activity transporting passengers to Pulau Tidung, Pulau Pari, Pulau Untung Jawa, and so on, Pulau Pandang. We urge skippers to prioritise safety by not overloading with people or goods,” said Prapto to reporters on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
He explained that the main priority is safety. Vessels must provide life jackets for passengers and avoid forcing voyages if the weather is unsuitable.
“Life jackets must be provided for passengers. Safety must still be maintained; if the waves are high and sailing is not possible, comply with the harbour master’s instructions. May journeys transporting passengers to the Thousand Islands remain under Allah’s protection and arrive safely,” he added.
In addition to focusing on dock activities, Pakuhaji Sector Police also patrolled residential areas. With the mudik momentum starting to be felt, residents were urged to be more vigilant about environmental security, especially for houses left empty by owners during mudik.
This preventive measure was taken to suppress crime rates such as specialised thefts from empty houses.
“Pakuhaji Sector Police invite residents not mudik to look out for each other and immediately report suspicious activities to the police,” he clarified.
The situation remained conducive until the activity ended. Fishermen welcomed this education as a form of Polri’s concern for coastal community safety.
