Police nab drug, fake money dealers

PADANG: Police in Agam apprehended recently an alleged drug and bogus money dealer after days of surveillance.

The police confiscated from the suspect, identified only as Mul alias Kasek, 67 packs of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine), a lighter, a device used to consume the drug and 68 counterfeit Rp 50,000 banknotes of the old serie.

Agam Police chief Supt. Sukrawadi Dahlan said the suspect had tried to dispose of 31 packs of the drug in the lavatory prior to the arrest.

Sukrawadi praised the arrest as a stepping stone to a crackdown on drug dealers and counterfeiters in the town.

Mul admitted that he brought the shabu-shabu from Jakarta. (28)
