Jakarta — The Indonesian National Police (Polri), through the Metro Jaya Regional Police, organised a community health outreach activity combined with an affordable food initiative for residents ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in 2026.

The activity held in the Kelapa Gading area of North Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026 targeted approximately 3,000 beneficiaries. Participants came from various backgrounds, including ride-hailing drivers, labourers, local residents and various community representatives.

The programme formed part of Polri’s efforts to assist the community, particularly lower-income groups, to meet their healthcare needs and obtain essential goods at affordable prices before the Eid celebration.

Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Wakapolri), Lieutenant General Dedi Prasetyo stated that Polri wished to be present comprehensively within the community, not only maintaining security and order but also helping to meet basic community needs.

“In addition to the affordable food movement, we are also conducting health outreach activities. We will serve all community needs, particularly in food and healthcare sectors,” said the Deputy Police Chief when greeting residents at the activity location.

During the activity, community members received various free health services, including general health examinations, consultations with internal medicine specialists and laboratory tests such as blood glucose, cholesterol and uric acid screening.

Additionally, residents also received eye examinations accompanied by the distribution of reading glasses to those in need.

To support these health services, Polri deployed medical personnel consisting of 10 general practitioners, one internal medicine specialist and 30 healthcare workers including nurses and laboratory analysts.

In total, 400 reading glasses were distributed to the community. Polri also deployed seven ambulances to ensure medical service readiness throughout the activity.

Meanwhile, President Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani expressed appreciation for the synergy between Polri and Bulog in helping the community meet basic needs.

“This collaboration demonstrates that the state is present to ensure the community continues to have access to essential goods at affordable prices. Programmes like this are not merely economic activities, but also a form of social stimulus that provides a sense of security for communities amid food price fluctuations,” said Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani.
