Police: Ki Bedil Sells Illegal Firearms for Rp15-20 Million with High Accuracy
Bareskrim Polri states that Tatang Sutardin, alias Ki Bedil, an expert in selling illegal firearms and explosives, previously worked at an air gun factory.
“Ki Bedil alias brother TS previously worked in the air gun industry in Cipacing, West Java,” said the Head of Mobile Brigade Unit of Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Arsya Khadafi, on Monday (13/4).
Arsya said the individual was subsequently involved in the sale of illegal firearms in the Cipacing area, Sumedang, West Java. However, he said, Ki Bedil managed to escape when he was about to be arrested.
He explained that after that enforcement attempt, Ki Bedil became very cautious and only accepted orders for illegal firearms from his relative, Aep Saepudin.
“He used AS as an intermediary, who then also traded these items using social media,” he explained.
Arsya said buyers who had paid the manufacturing fee for Ki Bedil’s firearms would receive them according to the address provided.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Ki Bedil was already well-known among criminals and illegal hunters. Because, he said, Ki Bedil’s homemade firearms had very good accuracy.
“Ki Bedil is someone who is quite famous among street crime perpetrators and also illegal hunters, where his products are very good, function well, and have high accuracy,” he stated.
He explained that the illegal firearms assembled by Ki Bedil were sold at varying prices depending on the type. For more complex types like pistols, they were traded for around Rp15 to Rp20 million.
“Also for long-barrel rifles with 100-metre accuracy, they are traded for between 15 and 20 million,” he clarified.
Previously, the Mobile Brigade Unit of Bareskrim Polri arrested Tatang Sutardin alias Ki Bedil, a seller of illegal firearms and explosives who had been operating for approximately 20 years.
The Head of Mobile Brigade Unit of Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Arsya Khadafi, said the arrest of Ki Bedil was carried out in the Rancaekek area, Bandung, West Java, on Monday (6/4) last week.
