Previously reported, police dismantled ecstasy distribution at a club in Denpasar, Bali. In this operation, police arrested three people and seized hundreds of ecstasy pills.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi explained that the bust began with information from the public about drug distribution activities that had been ongoing for quite some time at a club in Denpasar.
Based on that information, a joint team led by the Head of Subdit IV Dittipidnarkoba of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Commissioner Handik Zusen, and the NIC Task Force led by Commissioner Kevin Leleury tracked the illegal practice.
“On Saturday, 14 March 2026, around 21:30 WITA, the team conducted undercover as visitors and ordered Room VIP 2 (Karaoke Room),” Eko said through his statement on Monday (16/3).
In the early hours of Sunday, the team carried out an undercover buy by ordering 12 ecstasy pills from the waiter. The items were then passed to the room captain, Muhammad Rokip (27), who was immediately secured inside the room.
From Rokip, police found 38 ‘LV’ brand pink ecstasy pills on him and 600 other ecstasy pills inside his motorbike seat.
The investigation continued to the waiter I Gusti Bagus Adi Pramana (41), who had previously received the narcotics order. From interrogation, it was learned that the narcotics were obtained from the New Star Club manager named I Wayan Subawa (27).
“The team then secured I Wayan Subawa as the club manager. According to interrogation results from I Wayan Subawa, it was revealed that the narcotics distribution was carried out by someone named Opik (DPO) and his associates,” Eko explained.
It is known that Opik and his group are not official club staff. However, they often linger in the parking area and distribute narcotics to club visitors.
Eko explained that the illicit goods were delivered by couriers always wearing helmets and masks, then placed near the water pump machine in the parking area. The goods were picked up by dealers and distributed to visitors through the VIP room system or direct orders.
“After the goods were distributed, the proceeds from the narcotics sales were then placed back at the water pump machine location (stick system). The money was then collected by operational management for checking and counting,” Eko revealed.
The three individuals designated as suspects in this case are Muhammad Rokip, I Wayan Subawa, and I Gusti Bagus Adi Pramana. Police have also named six people as fugitives, namely Opik, Fernandi, Nadir, Andika, Anta, and I Dewa Ketut Wiranida.
In addition to securing suspects, police conducted searches of visitors. Of the 43 people secured, consisting of 28 men and 15 women, initial urine tests showed 24 men and 13 women indicated positive for drug use.
Police then collaborated with the Bali National Narcotics Agency (BNNP Bali) for further assessment to determine the level of dependency and explore the visitors’ roles, whether as users or involved in the distribution network.
“The team then coordinated with BNNP Bali to conduct assessment processes through the Integrated Assessment Team (TAT) mechanism to determine the level of dependency and the roles of those visitors in the narcotics case, whether as abusers requiring rehabilitation or indications of involvement in narcotics distribution,” Eko added.
In the bust, police seized 638 ecstasy pills of various brands and colours, cash of Rp 19.3 million in the karaoke room and Rp 170,000 at the parking location, as well as mobile phones, wallets, motorbike keys, vehicle registration, and ATM cards.
Eko stated that drug distribution at the location was carried out in a structured manner. Additionally, it was learned that the management was aware of the narcotics distribution activities and received a share of the sales proceeds.
“Ecstasy narcotics distribution at this club was carried out in a structured manner, utilising the nightlife venue facilities as a distribution medium to visitors,” Eko said.
Therefore, his side will continue to investigate possible involvement of other parties. The club is now cordoned off by police for further investigation.
