The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has prepared a security scheme for the Takbiran night of Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran 2026. A total of 317,000 personnel will be involved in securing this night.

“This year’s security operations involve a total of 317,666 personnel deployed to ensure that the public order and security situation remains safe and conducive throughout Indonesia,” said the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Operation Ketupat 2026, Brigadier General Tjahyono, in his statement on Friday (20/3/2026).

In addition, Polri has prepared supporting facilities in the form of 2,746 operational posts, consisting of 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts spread across various strategic locations.

Tjahyono also stated that security efforts are focused on a number of vital objects and community activity centres, including 121,803 mosques, 54,561 Eid prayer locations, 618 terminals, 562 ports, 182 airports, 268 railway stations, 2,966 shopping centres, and 4,647 recreational tourist sites.

“Security has been prepared by the territorial units for mosques or places of worship that will be used for Eid prayers. So all territorial units are ready to carry out security,” he said.

He mentioned that the applied security pattern prioritises preemptive and preventive measures. All personnel are also on standby to anticipate potential public order disturbances, including traffic congestion, roaming takbir processions, and increased public activity in crowded centres.

“Not only that, security is also carried out in an integrated manner with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and related stakeholders, focusing on public services, traffic management, and quick response to emergency situations through the 110 hotline service,” Tjahyono added.

On the other hand, Polri has also urged the public not to light firecrackers or fireworks. This is to anticipate potential dangers to personal safety and others, as well as disturbances to public order.

“The public is expected to celebrate Takbiran night in an orderly manner, avoid anarchic behaviour, and continue to maintain conduciveness in their respective environments,” he appealed.
