Jakarta – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has mobilised 2,746 posts during the 2026 Ketupat Operation, which will be conducted from 13-25 March 2026 during the Eid al-Fitr exodus and return period.

Deputy Police Chief General Dedi Prasetyo stated at the Police College Building in Jakarta on Monday that the thousands of posts comprise 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts to secure 185,608 installations.

“These installations include mosques, Eid prayer locations, shopping centres, bus terminals, railway stations, ports, airports, and tourist attractions,” he said.

He noted the post deployment anticipates the predicted two-wave Eid exodus. The first wave is forecast for 14-15 March 2026 and the second for 18-19 March 2026.

“This activity coincides with the Nyepi Day holiday,” he added.

The return traffic is similarly predicted in two waves. The first wave is expected on 25-26 March 2026 and the second on 28-29 March 2026.

To ensure smooth operation, Polri will implement traffic flow management on toll roads, including odd-even vehicle registration systems, one-way traffic, contraflow measures, delaying systems, and buffer zones at ports.

Additionally, Polri has established quick response teams to handle contingency situations.

The three-star police general further stated that Polri will offer motorcycle parking services at local police stations for people undertaking the exodus journey.

Polri will also optimise the 110 hotline for complaints and emergency services.

“The 110 hotline serves as our complaints line, emergency reporting service, and assists the public with police-related needs,” he said.

To prepare for the 2026 Ketupat Operation, a coordination meeting was held on Monday between the TNI-Polri and relevant ministries and agencies, including the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Jasa Marga toll operator, the Meteorological Agency, and Pertamina.
