Police Cordons Remain in Place at New Star Denpasar
Reports circulating on social media claiming that police cordons had been removed from New Star Club in Denpasar, Bali, have been refuted. On-site observations indicate that yellow police tape remains installed at the main entrance to the nightclub.
During monitoring at the location on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, yellow police tape was observed stretching across the front of the nightclub. The tape was installed directly at the access point and blocked portions of the entry and exit routes into the building.
The atmosphere in the vicinity appeared relatively quiet. No operational activities typical of a nightclub venue were visible. Several doors appeared firmly closed, whilst the front area showed no evidence of strict security measures.
During the monitoring period, no police officers were observed at the location. The police tape that remains installed serves as an indicator that the premises previously underwent police action.
Previously, the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the National Police revealed ecstasy distribution at the club. Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Offences at the Criminal Investigation Directorate, stated that the investigation was conducted through undercover operations and covert purchases in the VIP room.
In this case, three individuals were apprehended, including the club manager. Police also seized hundreds of ecstasy pills and secured dozens of club visitors for further questioning.
