Police officials have estimated losses from the safe break-in at Authorized Fuel Station (SPBU) 34.17604 in Kebalen, Babelan district, Bekasi regency, West Java, at approximately Rp130 million. The stolen funds represented sales revenue collected on Monday, 9 March.

Babelan Police Chief Commissioner Wito disclosed that estimated losses range between Rp100 million and Rp130 million. “This is sales revenue from the safe—nothing else,” he stated.

The police chief further explained that the four alleged perpetrators are believed to have entered the petrol station, which had ceased operations around 03:30 WIB on Tuesday, 10 March, by scaling the perimeter fence. At the time, five employees were resting at the staff quarters.

“While the victims were sleeping, the perpetrators arrived and they became frightened. Several victims were struck to prevent movement and their hands were bound,” Wito recounted.

According to witness statements, the perpetrators carried weapons believed to be toy pistols. They also wielded machetes and crowbars to threaten victims. They assaulted four additional employees before accessing the storage room to break open the safe.

After successfully obtaining the money, the perpetrators fled the scene. One victim, whose hands were bound with raffia rope, managed to free himself and reported the incident to police.

Police Chief Wito stated that the alleged robbery case remains under investigation. “The investigation is ongoing; we have not yet reached conclusions.”
