Police Confirm Suspects Timothy Ronald and Kalimasada in Alleged Crypto Investment Scam Have Been Questioned
The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, confirmed that the two suspects in the alleged cryptocurrency investment scam, Timothy Ronald and Kalimasada, have been summoned and questioned.
“True, on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, around 13:00 WIB, two suspects were questioned by investigators from Subdit 1 Dit Ressiber PMJ,” Budi explained, quoted from Tribunnews on Friday (8/5/2026).
The two individuals who founded the Crypto Academy community were reported by their members to Metro Jaya Police starting in January 2026.
Meanwhile, the legal representative of the crypto academy victims, Jajang, appreciated the actions of law enforcement officials.
Jajang requested transparency in the legal process so that the public could monitor it.
“We appreciate the steps taken by Subdit 1 Ditresiber Metro Jaya Police in clarifying the suspects, but we note there were communication issues regarding the summoning schedule, which was previously stated for 7 and 8 May,” Jajang stated.
Jajang hopes that investigators will not only focus on cybercrime but also delve into money laundering offences (TPPU).
“The flow of public funds must be traced transparently through TPPU investigations; there should be no loopholes for the perpetrators to obscure assets that are the rights of the victims,” he emphasised.
This has led the victims’ legal representatives to visit Metro Jaya Police to seek clarity on the victims’ reports in this case.
“We, as representatives of the Crypto Academy victims involving Timothy Ronald and Kalimasada, wish to provide an update today on the development of this truly distressing case. It has been four months with no significant progress,” Jajang said, quoted from Kompas.com on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
“All facts, all evidence, we can present, and we have handed them over to the cyber investigation team of Metro Jaya Police. We firmly request that within this week, there must be a summons. If not, we will take major, measured efforts to pursue this legal process,” Jajang added.
