Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo invited all labour elements to celebrate Labour Day or May Day on 1 May with a spirit of togetherness. Additionally, the Police Chief emphasised the importance of maintaining a conducive investment climate to ensure the welfare of workers amid global economic dynamics.

This was conveyed by the Police Chief at the Halal Bihalal Eid al-Fitr 1447 H event for the KSPSI AGN extended family at PT KMK Global Sports, Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday afternoon (14/4/2026). The Police Chief, present as Chairman of the KSPSI Advisory Board, was warmly welcomed by KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea and thousands of workers.

In his speech, General Sigit invited workers and entrepreneurs to jointly celebrate May Day at Monas on 1 May. He hoped this momentum would symbolise solidarity between workers and entrepreneurs.

“I invite fellow entrepreneurs to join us in celebrating our shared birthday event at Monas, which will be attended by the President, and let us together make this workers’ birthday a joint victory for Indonesia and Indonesian workers,” said General Sigit.

“Let us celebrate this birthday well, safely, orderly, and of course, let us show the world that Indonesian workers and entrepreneurs are all united and ready to provide space for investments entering Indonesia,” he continued.

Regarding the economic situation, the Police Chief reminded of the fluctuating impact of the global escalation in the Middle East. He asserted that the main key to survival is to show the world that Indonesia is an investment-friendly country.

“We must show our survival, and our survival is whenever we can show that Indonesia is a red carpet for investment and industrialisation. And that means the welfare of workers going forward will continue to be maintained,” he emphasised.

According to him, harmonious industrial relations are very necessary to keep the industry healthy.

“Workers can prosper if the industry grows. If the industry is healthy, workers will certainly get their rights. Workers will receive appropriate incentives. And of course, the end result is that workers will prosper,” added General Sigit.

Regarding regulatory issues and the Job Creation Law, the Police Chief encouraged labour unions and entrepreneurs to hold more informal meetings to find common ground. This is important so that when regulations are drafted at the legislative level, there are no more communication barriers.

“This time, I encourage fellow workers and fellow entrepreneurs to meet informally, discuss, and find a middle ground that can be accepted by fellow unions and fellow entrepreneurs, so that when the revision rolls in the DPR, there are no more problems,” he explained.

Also present at this agenda were Banten Deputy Governor Dimyati Natakusumah and Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki. Accompanying the Police Chief were, among others, Head of Public Relations Division Johnny Eddizon Isir, Head of Polri Medical Services Inspector General Asep Hendradiana, and Head of Personnel Bureau SSDM Polri Brigadier General Langgeng Purnomo.

Also present were KSPSI Advisory Board members, namely Commissioner General Yuda Gustawan (Industrial Relations Mitigation Sector), Commissioner General Imam Widodo (Organisation Sector), Ferriyady Hartadinata (UMKM and Cooperatives Sector), Arsjad Rasjid (Economy Sector), Inspector General (Ret.) Cahyono Wibowo (Law Enforcement Sector).

Also present were Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid and Tangerang Police Resort Chief Commissioner Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah, as well as other Tangerang Regency Forkopimda members.
