Police chief ensures safe peak homecoming flow in Yogyakarta
According to an official statement, during the visit, the police chief received a report that Wednesday marked the peak of arrivals at the station.
“From the report, we received information that the peak of train arrivals reached around 54 thousand passengers, and it has increased to 55 thousand. This means there is a percentage increase,” he said.
He also received information that the return flow peak at Tugu Station is expected to occur on March 28 and 29, 2026.
In general, he emphasized that the homecoming flow from Yogyakarta to Jakarta has been running relatively safely so far.
“Overall, it was reported that the situation at Yogyakarta Station remains relatively safe, with no significant complaints,” he said.
The police have implemented a number of policies to ease congestion caused by the surge in vehicle volume.
Listyo informed that there is an increase in travelers across various modes of transportation, including trains and sea transport.
Therefore, the police chief ensured that the public has received optimal services from the police and related stakeholders.
Furthermore, he said that the number of accidents has decreased by 40 percent compared to the previous year, and he urged all personnel to maintain this positive trend.
He also reminded travelers to prioritize safety during their homecoming and return journeys.
“If you are tired, prepare a substitute driver so the journey can remain smooth, safe, and reach the destination safely,” he added.
