Police Chief Directs Ketupat Operation to Ensure Safe Homecoming
The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Pol. Agus Suryonugroho visited the Integrated Post at KM 57 in the West Java Police Region to oversee the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026 and ensure optimal execution.
During the visit, Kakorlantas noted that traffic flow remained manageable, although there were increases in vehicle volume on several road sections.
The visit occurred after Kakorlantas previously accompanied the Police Chief in monitoring security preparedness in the Central Java region.
On the same day, Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo conducted direct inspections at the Kalikangkung Integrated Post in Central Java, continuing a series of Ramadan Safari activities.
“This year’s Ketupat Operation is being directly controlled by the Police Chief to ensure that the entire series of security measures for managing the outbound and return migration flows runs smoothly,” Agus stated in his official statement.
From preliminary monitoring results, the flow of vehicles departing the Jakarta area towards the Trans-Java route and onwards to Banten and crossings to Sumatra showed significant increases.
“From projections of approximately 3.5 million vehicles estimated to travel towards the Trans-Java route, West Java, Cikupa, Banten and Sumatra, approximately 28 per cent have already departed Jakarta. For this reason, we are still managing roughly 72 per cent of the remaining traffic,” the Kakorlantas explained.
