Police Chief Confident New Office Will Enhance Kompolnas Independence in Overseeing Polri

Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the thanksgiving ceremony for the inauguration of the new office of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas). He stated that this new building will make Kompolnas even more independent.

“Of course, with the presence of this new building, Kompolnas will become increasingly independent as a strategic partner of Polri to ensure that the Polri institution can truly carry out its duties professionally,” said Sigit after the thanksgiving event at the new Kompolnas office in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

Sigit said that Polri is open to evaluations and inputs. According to him, suggestions from Kompolnas are important so that Polri can continuously improve itself.

“On one hand, of course, we need a lot of inputs and evaluations. Colleagues from Kompolnas always provide suggestions and inputs, so that we can work better, more professionally, listen to public complaints, and respond to them promptly,” he stated.

Sigit affirmed that Polri is also open to criticism and reports of alleged violations. He said that Polri personnel must uphold the trust in enforcing the law and protecting the public.

“Existing violations are certainly something that we must always improve. Polri is open to continuous improvements, so that what becomes the public’s expectations of the Polri institution, with the presence of this new Kompolnas building, we hope everything can become better,” said General Sigit.

For information, previously the Kompolnas office was located within the Polri Headquarters, namely in the PTIK (Police Science College) complex in Kebayoran Baru. Now, the new Kompolnas office is located at Graha Sentana, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta.
