Police have uncovered an alleged illegal distribution of hard drugs in the Penjaringan area of North Jakarta (Jakut). A man with the initials RP (22) was arrested in the case.

“This revelation began with reports from the public regarding suspicious activities at the location,” said the Head of Narcotics at the North Jakarta Metro Police Resort, AKBP Ari Galang Saputra, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

The raid took place at a pharmacy that also served as a mobile phone counter on Jalan Mazda Raya, RT 011 RW 009, Penjaringan Village, Penjaringan Subdistrict, Jakut, on Saturday (4/4).

He stated that this revelation is part of the police’s efforts to suppress the circulation of illegal hard drugs in their jurisdiction.

“After conducting an investigation, officers successfully secured the suspect along with a substantial quantity of Schedule G hard drugs as evidence,” said AKBP Ari.

From the location, officers seized a total of 1,885 pills of Schedule G hard drugs suspected of being traded without official permission. The evidence consisted of various types, including Tramadol and Eximer, packaged in strips or clip plastics.

He emphasised that Schedule G drugs are hard medications whose use must be through a doctor’s prescription. Misuse of these drugs can have serious impacts on health, especially among teenagers.

“The circulation of hard drugs without permission is very dangerous because it has the potential for misuse. We will continue to take action and develop leads to uncover any larger networks,” he said.

Currently, the suspect is undergoing further examination. Police are also tracing the origin of the goods and the distribution routes of these drugs.

Police urge the public not to buy or consume hard drugs without a doctor’s prescription and to immediately report any illegal drug distribution practices in their surroundings.
