Police Arrest Teenager with Thousands of Prohibited Drugs in North Jakarta
Jakarta — The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Regional Police has arrested a teenager who was preparing to distribute thousands of prohibited Schedule G drugs in North Jakarta.
“In this investigation, we arrested one suspect with initials NZ (19) on Monday (16 March) at approximately 00:30 WIB,” said Head of Section 4, Subdirectorate 3 of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate, AKP Angga, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He stated that the arrest was conducted at a shop located in North Jakarta. The case originated from public information reporting suspected illegal drug sales activity at the location.
“During the raid, officers found the suspect guarding merchandise,” Angga said.
From the search, police discovered evidence in the form of 1,360 prohibited Schedule G drug tablets. Additionally, two mobile phones, one sales notebook, and a QRIS payment board were seized.
“Along with cash totalling 1.41 million rupiah believed to be proceeds from the sale of these drugs,” Angga stated.
He warned the public to avoid Schedule G drugs as they can have negative impacts, including triggering gang violence.
“So we hope that if any information is found regarding the circulation of Schedule G drugs, please report it to us immediately so we can eradicate it completely,” Angga said.
Currently, he stated, for the purpose of further investigation, the suspect and evidence have been brought to the Narcotics Investigation Directorate headquarters of Metro Jaya Regional Police.
