Police arrest croupiers, gamblers
PAMEKASAN, East Java: Police on Madura Island arrested six
croupiers and seven gamblers during two separate raids on
gambling activities in marketplaces.
Led by deputy police chief Maj. Bambang Sri Herwanto, the
raids on Saturday were conducted by 18 security officers. The
first operation took place at the Batu Bintang village, Batu
Marmar subdistrict, while the second at the Keppo Market, Polagan
village, Galis subdistrict.
Antara reported that the police confiscated various pieces of
evidence, including Rp 1.2 million (US$ 530) in cash, dice and
plastic tents in which the people gambled. (swe)
