Polda Metro Jaya has secured 69 individuals involved in riots and obstructing the execution of state-owned assets on Block 15 in the former Hotel Sultan area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday. The incident was marked by stone-throwing that resulted in injuries to 29 people. “As a result of this action, officers secured 69 people suspected of trying to obstruct the execution process, and this number may increase,” said Police Grand Commissioner Budi Hermanto in Jakarta on Thursday. He added that a total of 26 police officers sustained minor injuries from stones thrown by the masses occupying the execution area. One TNI officer was injured in the temple, and two civilians present during the execution were also hurt. “Currently, the injured are receiving medical treatment,” he said. Hermanto explained that during the execution, members of the public attempted to obstruct the enforcement of a Res Judicata court ruling, a legal principle stating that a court decision with permanent legal force, or inkracht, must be considered correct and remains binding. He emphasised that the execution process followed professional, proportional, and accountable stages and procedures. “We urge the public not to create wild information or issues, because today’s execution action is fully accountable,” he said. Previously, Polda Metro Jaya deployed 3,161 joint TNI-Polri personnel to oversee the execution of state assets on Block 15 in the former Hotel Sultan area in Central Jakarta. “Officers were present to ensure that the execution process proceeded safely, peacefully, and under control,” said Budi Hermanto. According to him, several stages had been completed, starting with the court clerk delivering the seizure order, accompanied by TNI-Polri personnel, as well as the plaintiff and defendant. “After that, persuasive and humane appeals were made to the people still at the location,” he said. Following the appeals, space was given for negotiation, but the masses began throwing stones and taking actions that could disrupt public order and even injure officers. “Dozens of officers were injured due to the stone-throwing,” he said.
