Jakarta – The Indonesian National Police (Polri), in collaboration with journalists, distributed a total of 1,500 food items and breaking-fast provisions to the public for the breaking of the fast on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

The distribution of food and provisions took place at several locations around Police Headquarters in South Jakarta. This activity represented an initiative by journalists that is undertaken annually with the support of Polri personnel.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of Public Relations Division of Polri, stated that through this collaboration, Polri and journalists worked together to share the wisdom and contribute to the blessings of the Ramadan month.

“Every year we distribute food items including breaking-fast provisions to members of the public who are still engaged in their work as the time for breaking the fast approaches,” he said to journalists.

“These include motorcycle taxi drivers and other public transport operators. This reflects our collective attention and empathy,” he added.

On the occasion, he expressed hope that the mudik (homecoming) journey that the public would undertake in the coming weeks would proceed smoothly. He assured that the entire police force had prepared maximum services for the public.

He urged members of the public planning to undertake mudik not to hesitate in reporting to or entrusting their vehicles and homes to officers at the nearest police substation.

“This should be communicated to resident and neighbourhood association heads who are staying behind, and particularly to Polri. There are community policing officers (Bhabinkamtibmas). There are also facilities for storing vehicles at police substations or police offices. Please make use of these,” he said.

Furthermore, Trunoyudo also urged the public to exercise caution during their mudik journey. He emphasised that the main objective of mudik is to reach one’s hometown safely.

“Safety is the most important aspect of mudik – reaching your destination, not speed,” he concluded.
