Police: 80 percent of fourth floor of BPK member's house on Simatupang burns
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police stated that around 80 percent of the fourth floor of the late member IV of the Financial Audit Board (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia, Haerul Saleh’s house at Jalan Teratai VI No 07, Tanjung Barat, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, was completely burned.
“About 80 percent, yes, on the upper floor, his workspace. Approximately 80 percent in his workspace,” said the Chief of South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Resort, Commissioner Pol. I Putu Yuni Setiawan, to reporters at the fire scene in Jakarta on Friday.
Yuni said the burned section was Haerul Saleh’s workspace located on the fourth floor of the house.
He also explained that the workspace area was only on the fourth floor of the house.
“One floor workspace on the fourth floor only,” he stated.
Furthermore, Yuni added that during the evacuation process, personnel from the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Department (Gulkarmat Jaksel) still found fire inside the room.
“Fire department personnel arrived and there was still fire,” he said.
Police Headquarters deployed the Police Forensic Laboratory and Inafis Team to process the crime scene (TKP) at the fire location that killed member IV of the Financial Audit Board (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia, Haerul Saleh, at Jalan Teratai VI No 07, RT03/RW02, Tanjung Barat, Jagakarsa, starting at 12.30 WIB.
As many as 48 personnel or 12 units from the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Department were deployed to extinguish the fire at the house of member IV of the Financial Audit Board (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia, Haerul Saleh, at Jalan TB Simatupang No 3, RT03/RW02, Tanjung Barat, Jagakarsa.
South Jakarta Gulkarmat personnel began extinguishing the fire at 08.07 WIB and completed operations at 08.46 WIB.
From the fire, one fatality was reported, named Khaerul Soleh (49).
The victim was handled by personnel and taken by ambulance to Pasar Minggu General Hospital for further treatment.
To date, they are still assessing the extent of losses from the burned area of 5x10 square metres (m²).
