Surabaya — PT PLN (Persero) East Java Distribution Unit (UID) has mobilised 5,524 personnel equipped with supporting equipment to safeguard the electricity system during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period from 14-29 March 2026.

General Manager Ahmad Mustaqir stated that the thousands of personnel deployed are distributed across 562 emergency posts throughout East Java.

“All of this is so that the community can carry out their religious observance and celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 H comfortably,” said Ahmad Mustaqir in Surabaya on Wednesday.

Additionally, PLN has prepared supporting equipment including 92 generators, 62 mobile UPS units, 234 mobile substations, 15 crane trucks, 399 operational vehicles, and 457 operational motorcycles to ensure rapid response in the event of electricity disruptions.

During this alert period, PLN is also securing 562 priority locations across East Java, which include places of worship, hospitals, transport hubs, shopping centres, tourist areas, and government offices.

All of these locations receive multi-layered protection to ensure reliable electricity supply during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H period.

PLN is furthermore ensuring adequate electricity supply in the East Java system, with capacity reaching approximately 9,815 MW and power reserves exceeding 2,600 MW.

In supporting public mobility, particularly for electric vehicle users, PLN has also prepared 297 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) at 158 locations spread across various regions of East Java.

This infrastructure has been prepared to support holiday travellers using electric vehicles to ensure safe and comfortable journeys.

PLN is simultaneously strengthening synergy with various parties such as the Indonesian military (TNI), national police (Polri), PT KAI, Pertamina, the disaster management agency (BPBD), and local governments for the protection of electrical assets and mitigation of potential risks, including extreme weather and network disruptions.

“We have a free travel programme in collaboration with PT KAI, and thankfully the interest has been overwhelming. A total of 6,400 holiday travellers are ready to be sent from Surabaya on 17-18 March 2026,” said Ahmad.

With these preparedness measures in place, PLN hopes that the community can observe Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr peacefully, supported by reliable electricity supply across the East Java region.
