Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB), an Indonesian political party, has expressed deep mourning over the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in a joint military attack by Israel and the United States on Iran. PKB has condemned the US assault on Iran.

“The PKB Central Executive Board conveys profound condolences over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in a military strike on Tehran. According to various international reports, this attack was carried out by Israel with the support of the United States. This event is not merely a tragedy for Iran, but also a serious blow to international law and the global order that has been upheld collectively,” said Luluk Nur Hamidah, Head of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at PKB’s Central Executive Board, during a press conference at PKB headquarters in Jakarta on Sunday (1 March 2026).

Luluk stated that the Israeli and American attack cannot be justified under international law and has the potential to create a dangerous precedent for global stability. She argued that if this is permitted to continue, no nation can be assured of safety and security.

“If such practices are allowed, the world is moving towards an international system regulated by military force, not by law. Today Iran is the target. Tomorrow, any nation could experience the same fate. When the assassination of a state leader is considered legitimate, there is no longer any guarantee of safety for any nation,” she said.

She noted that the absence of strict sanctions against various human rights violations in both Iran and Palestine has created a new atmosphere of boldness for escalating violence. Consequently, Luluk stated that universal justice is needed.

“The PKB Central Executive Board affirms that humanity must not be defeated by geopolitical interests, must not submit to the dominance of military force, and must not be sacrificed for global power agendas. The world needs universal justice, not law that applies only to the weak,” she explained.

The PKB Central Executive Board called upon the United Nations and the international community, with the following key points:

  1. Conduct independent and transparent investigations into this attack.

  2. Impose strict sanctions against every violation of international law without double standards, including against Israel and those supporting it (America).

  3. Promote conflict de-escalation and open diplomatic channels.

  4. Protect civilians from the impact of the widening conflict in the Middle East region.

Luluk conveyed that today’s global injustice is a threat to tomorrow’s world peace. If the world remains silent, what will grow is not stability, but an endless spiral of conflict.

“We express solidarity with the Iranian people. May they be given strength and patience, and may the international community have the moral courage to uphold true justice and peace,” she concluded.

Previously, the US and Israel launched large-scale operations on Saturday (28 February). They targeted command and control facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), ballistic missile and drone launch sites, military airfields, and Iran’s air defence systems.

The Iranian Red Crescent reported that the joint attack killed more than 200 people in Iran and injured nearly 750. The attack struck 24 of Iran’s 31 provinces.

The US Central Command (Centcom) stated that it was investigating reports that the attack hit a girls’ school in southern Iran, which according to Iranian officials killed more than 100 schoolgirls. The Israeli Air Force also conducted the largest military air operation in the history of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), with over 200 jets attacking Iranian missile sites and IRGC air bases.

The IDF stated that it had struck air defence systems in western and central Iran. The IDF claimed they had attacked more than 500 targets, including Iranian missile launchers and air defence systems.

The US and Israeli attacks killed several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
