The Board of Executives of the Association of Indonesian
Journalists from the Jakarta Branch deem it necessary to warn the
public against the malpractice of phony reporters. They tend to
exercise extortion in the name of the journalist association.

In their operations they even use the names of the true
journalists working for a certain publication and use their
business cards.

These fake reporters usually request an interview with the
victim and demand a fee for the service. We appeal to the public
to report such cases to the Secretariat of the association or to
the nearest Police Office.
