PGN receiving terminal started
JAKARTA: Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro presided over the ground-breaking ceremony for state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN)'s receiving terminal in Pagardewa, South Sumatra, on Sunday as part of the South Sumatra-Java transmission line.
The company said in a press release that the first phase of construction would link Pagardewa to Cilegon, Banten. The 445- kilometer line will carry 250 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).
The second phase of construction will link Grissik (South Sumatra) to Muara Bekasi (West Java) via Labuhan Mariggai. The 689-km line will have a capacity of 400 mmscfd from ConocoPhillips's Grissik gas field.
The two pipelines could eventually have a combined capacity of 1,200 mmscfd with the addition of a compressor.
PGN said in the release that the Pagardewa receiving terminal would serve as a backup if there is any disruption at the Cilegon Master Control Station. -- JP
