PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) has relaunched its Free Mudik Programme 2026 in support of facilitating smooth homebound travel during the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. Approximately 850 programme participants were dispatched from Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in Jakarta, with destinations across various cities on the island of Java.

The programme forms part of the Free Mudik BUMN 2026 initiative, which involves multiple government agencies and state-owned enterprises (BUMN). Through the provision of mass transportation, the programme aims to offer safer, more comfortable, and better-organised travel for the public.

PGN Chief Executive Officer Arief Kurnia Risdianto stated that the free mudik programme represents the company’s commitment to delivering social benefits beyond its energy business operations.

“PGN is committed to providing energy that not only drives economic growth, but also delivers tangible benefits for the community,” he said.

For this year’s implementation, PGN has prepared approximately 21 bus convoys, each with a capacity of 40-45 passengers. The fleet services 12 travel routes to various cities across West Java, Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and East Java.

Routes served include Jakarta-Tasikmalaya, Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Jakarta-Jepara, Jakarta-Wonogiri, Jakarta-Klaten, Jakarta-Surabaya, and Jakarta-Madiun.

In addition to departures from TMII, participant dispatches are also scheduled for 17 March 2026 at several other locations, including the Gelora Bung Karno area and the office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), as part of cross-BUMN collaboration.

To ensure travel safety, all convoys have undergone vehicle safety checks, whilst 51 bus crew members have been verified as being in good health. Participants also receive safety briefings prior to departure. Through this programme, PGN hopes to help reduce traffic congestion and lower accident risks during the Eid holiday period.
