PERURI and KTI Foundation Provide Economic Training for Persons with Disabilities
State-owned banknote printer Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (PERURI), in partnership with the Kreasi Tuli Indonesia (KTI) Foundation, has provided economic training in screen printing to persons with disabilities.
PERURI Head of Corporate Secretary Adi Sunardi said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday that the activity reflects the company’s commitment to expanding inclusive economic empowerment access for all levels of society.
“This is part of our commitment to promote equal opportunity so that friends with disabilities can continue to work and make a real contribution to economic activity,” Adi said.
The training was designed to equip participants with basic screen-printing skills. This practical expertise is expected to become a new source of income, open up independent business opportunities, and serve as a strong foundation for competing in the job market.
“Through this training, we hope the participants not only gain applicable technical skills, but also increased self-confidence,” he added.
He also stated that the programme demonstrates the company’s commitment to community empowerment through basic skills that unlock economic independence, amid the firm’s ongoing transformation process. This step is also cited as a tangible contribution by PERURI towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the pillars of Decent Work and Reduced Inequalities.
In line with this, KTI Foundation Founder Inaraya said screen-printing training was chosen because it is relatively easy to learn and has promising business prospects.
“There are still many persons with disabilities with high potential and enthusiasm who have not received access to suitable training. This screen-printing skill can be a very relevant provision for them, whether to start a business or work in the printing sector,” Inaraya explained.
Both parties hope this initiative can become a concrete step in building a disability-friendly ecosystem and supporting the creation of sustainable economic independence.
