Pertamina's Explanation on Subsidised Diesel Stock in Pati
PT Pertamina has assured that subsidised diesel fuel stocks in Pati Regency, Central Java, are sufficient, reaching 2.7 times the normal daily consumption. This was stated by Acting Area Manager for Communication Relations and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Central Java Region, Rizky Diba Avrita. “The same applies to the distribution and stock of fuel oil (BBM) in Central Java Province and DIY, which are in a safe and sufficient condition. Because the supply reliability for subsidised diesel BBM in Central Java and DIY reaches 17.1 times the normal consumption,” said Rizky, as quoted from Antara on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. Previously, on Monday, 4 May, fishermen in Pati Regency held a demonstration at Pati Town Square. They demanded that the government lower the price of non-subsidised diesel, which has now reached Rp30,000 per litre. That price is considered burdensome and threatens the sustainability of fishermen’s activities in catching fish at sea. Rizky explained that the available subsidised diesel stock in Pati Regency is sufficient to meet the needs of the community, including small-scale fishermen. According to him, fishermen with vessels under 30 gross tons (GT) are entitled to receive subsidised diesel BBM by attaching a recommendation letter from the local Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office. Meanwhile, fishermen in the category above 30 GT are required to use non-subsidised BBM in accordance with applicable regulations, as they fall under the industrial business category. Rizky stated that Pertamina continues to coordinate with local governments and various stakeholders to ensure smooth BBM distribution to the community. “We urge the public not to panic because BBM stocks are sufficient for the community,” he said.
