PT Pertamina (Persero) is strengthening the monitoring of the national energy supply in the run-up to Ramadan and Idulfitri 2026. One of the measures is the use of Pertamina Digital Hub, an integrated monitoring system that tracks the energy supply chain from upstream to downstream in real time.

Through this system, Pertamina can continuously monitor the condition of energy supply and stock, including fuel (BBM) and LPG. The platform also serves as an important instrument for the company to ensure energy availability remains safeguarded.

Muhammad Baron, Vice President Corporate Communications of PT Pertamina (Persero), said the use of technology is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen monitoring of national energy operations. He said Pertamina Digital Hub has been connected to all lines of business of the company.

“Through this facility, we can map the supply and stock conditions in each distribution chain, from upstream sector, processing, loading and shipping, to distribution to SPBU,” Baron said. The system is also equipped with operational data and monitoring cameras that allow continuous monitoring of activities.

In the upstream sector, Pertamina ensures operational activities run in accordance with standards so that production targets from each entity can be achieved.

Meanwhile in the downstream sector, the company monitors the movement of ships carrying crude oil or BBM products, including projected arrival times of supplies that will be processed at six Pertamina refineries. Optimisation of domestic refinery operations continues to be carried out to maintain national energy resilience.

This monitoring technology is also used to monitor the distribution of BBM to sales outlets such as SPBU. Pertamina can track the movement of tanker trucks transporting BBM and monitor stock conditions at each SPBU.

Baron said through a single integrated dashboard, the company can identify BBM and LPG consumption patterns across various regions. As a result, proactive measures can be taken promptly if demand surges, extreme weather, or global dynamics that could disrupt the energy supply chain occur.

According to Baron, digital transformation is one of the keys to maintaining stability of national energy supply. Currently Pertamina keeps energy reserves above the government’s minimum threshold, namely around 21–23 days. For some products, reserves reach up to 35 days.

“Government reserve benchmarks are the threshold that must be maintained. As long as distribution runs normally, stock will continue to move. Therefore, we ensure reserves remain above the minimum level as a risk mitigation measure,” Baron said.
