PT Pertamina (Persero) is safeguarding the national energy supply, particularly during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, with a range of measures to bolster energy supply such as fuel (BBM) and LPG. Supply monitoring is conducted strictly through the Pertamina Digital Hub, Pertamina’s integrated energy supply monitoring and control system from upstream to downstream. The Pertamina Digital Hub also serves as one of Pertamina’s strategies to maintain energy reserve levels so that supplies are consistently available at all times. Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, explained that the use of advanced technology is one of the ways Pertamina monitors energy management in real time. The Pertamina Digital Hub is already connected to all Pertamina businesses, so all activities and business processes are clearly monitored. “In this facility, Pertamina can map energy supply and reserve conditions along every supply chain continuously, from upstream, processing, shipping and transport to distribution to Pertamina’s SPBU stations. We have access to data and surveillance cameras, even movement every second,” Baron said in a statement on Thursday (5/3/2026). In the upstream sector, operations are ensured to run in accordance with standards so that the operational targets of each entity can be maintained. Meanwhile, in the downstream sector, Pertamina can monitor the movement of vessels carrying products or crude oil, or projections of arrival for product or crude oil procurement, which are then processed at Pertamina’s six refineries. Optimisation of domestic refinery operations continues to support national energy resilience. The use of advanced technology also makes it easier for Pertamina to monitor product availability at sales outlets, such as BBM at petrol stations. Pertamina can monitor tanker crews in the distribution process to SPBU and track stock levels at each SPBU. “Through a unified dashboard, Pertamina can identify patterns in BBM and LPG consumption in each region, enabling proactive measures if demand rises, extreme weather occurs, or global dynamics could affect the energy supply chain,” he said. Baron added that Pertamina’s digital transformation is the key to maintaining stability of the national energy supply. In line with government regulations, Pertamina has secured national energy reserves above the minimum level, roughly 21-23 days. For some products, reserves reach up to 35 days. The government reserve benchmark, he said, serves as the safeguarding threshold that must always be maintained. “As long as distribution and supply run normally, stocks continue to move, so Pertamina keeps reserves above the minimum level. This is a risk mitigation step and a commitment by Pertamina to maintaining energy resilience,” Baron said.
