Pertamina Prepares Fuel Delivery Service to Traffic Jams on North Coast Route
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has assured that those travelling home via the North Coast (Pantura) route need not worry about running out of fuel during traffic jams. The state-owned company is preparing a fuel delivery service directly to vehicles trapped in congestion during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period. Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Muhammad Baron, stated that they have mapped several congestion-prone points on the non-toll Pantura route as part of measures to anticipate the surge in vehicles. “We are deploying the Motorist Service or Pertamina Delivery Service, ready to deliver packaged fuel directly to vehicles stuck in traffic,” Baron said in a written statement on Saturday (21/3/2026). Fuel terminals and petrol stations along critical routes are being operated 24 hours to ensure supply availability. This step is taken considering that the Pantura route remains the primary choice for homecomers, especially motorbike users and four-wheeled vehicles not using toll roads. He also urged the public to fill their fuel tanks fully before the journey and to use energy wisely according to needs for comfort during the homecoming. “We hope the public will use energy, fuel, and LPG, wisely according to their needs,” Baron said. In addition to ensuring energy supply, Pertamina is providing various additional services at several petrol stations. One example is the Muri petrol station in Tegal, Central Java, which offers complete facilities such as toilets, prayer rooms, a swimming pool, accommodation, and a souvenir centre involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This petrol station is named Muri because it entered the Indonesia Museum of Records (Muri) in 2008 for having 107 toilets, consisting of 31 women’s toilets, 11 men’s toilets, and 40 urinals. According to Baron, these various initiatives are part of Pertamina’s commitment not only to serve the community’s energy needs but also to drive economic growth in the areas along the homecoming routes. “Pertamina wants the presence of petrol stations and assisted partners to provide real impact for local residents. This is our commitment to supporting inclusive economic growth,” he said. Outside of petrol stations, Pertamina is also providing rest areas with a tourism and cultural theme, such as Danau Cinta Eco Resort in Karawang, West Java.
