Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan has ensured that the distribution and service of fuel oil (BBM) in West Kalimantan (Kalbar), particularly in Pontianak City and Kubu Raya Regency, is becoming more conducive with various ongoing strengthening efforts for distribution.

Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Edi Mangun, stated in Jakarta on Monday that various strategies have been optimised intensively, including ensuring the Integrated Terminal Pontianak operates 24 hours, adding supply up to 140 per cent of normal conditions, increasing the tanker fleet, and raising the frequency of deliveries to priority petrol stations (SPBU).

In addition, distribution has been strengthened through police escorts (patwal) for tanker trucks to ensure accelerated delivery from supply points to petrol stations.

Edi emphasised that the distribution strengthening is carried out comprehensively to ensure fuel availability remains maintained and services operate optimally.

“We affirm that fuel supply in West Kalimantan continues to be increased and distributed maximally. With various acceleration efforts undertaken, the current situation is gradually becoming conducive. However, if stocks run out again in a short time and queues occur, this indicates abnormal consumption patterns that need to be addressed together,” he said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga has also strengthened the distribution side, including activating additional nozzles at petrol stations that were previously non-operational, as well as optimising purchases through accelerated QR code activation to ensure more targeted distribution.

In addition, Pertamina is evaluating alternative delivery options in certain conditions to help break up queues in the field.

In response to information about petrol stations that have not been operating for some time, Edi affirmed that every SPBU not serving the public is a serious concern and is immediately evaluated operationally, including ensuring stock availability and service readiness.

“Pertamina has also encouraged petrol stations to remain optimally operational and has implemented stricter supervision to ensure public services are not disrupted,” he said.

In general, according to Edi, fuel distribution continues to run with high realisation and stock availability in a safe condition.

However, queues are still concentrated at certain petrol stations due to consumption dynamics that are not entirely normal, causing large amounts of fuel to run out quickly.

Therefore, Pertamina, together with local government and law enforcement agencies, continues to strengthen coordination, including public socialisation and crackdowns on hoarding practices and speculative activities that could disrupt distribution.

“Every indication of deviation will be firmly addressed in accordance with applicable regulations to ensure fuel can be accessed fairly by the public,” said Edi.

In line with the upcoming weekend and the long Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2026, Pertamina Patra Niaga has also ensured fuel availability at petrol stations remains maintained so that the public can carry out activities, including worship, peacefully.

According to him, distribution continues to be optimised so that services at petrol stations run well.

Pertamina also urges the public to remain calm and purchase fuel according to their needs.

Excessive purchases not only prolong queues but also potentially hinder distribution to other members of the public.

“Support and cooperation from all parties are very much needed to make the situation in the field increasingly conducive,” said Edi.
