Pertamina Patra Niaga has appreciated the swift and decisive steps taken by the Indonesian National Police (POLRI) through the Directorate of Specific Crimes (Tipidter) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim POLRI) in uncovering alleged criminal acts of misusing subsidised fuel (BBM) and 3 kg LPG in various regions across Indonesia from 2025 to 2026.

This crackdown is an effort to maintain the distribution of subsidised BBM and LPG to ensure it reaches the intended targets and protects the public from illegal practices that cause harm.

The press conference on law enforcement was held at Bhayangkara Field, POLRI Headquarters, on Monday, 7 April 2026, and was attended by Deputy Chief of National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Inspector General of Police Nunung Syaifudin; Director of Tipidter Bareskrim POLRI, Brigadier General of Police Moh. Irhamni; Head of Public Relations of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General of Police Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko; Deputy Chief of TNI Puspom, First Marshal of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Bambang Suseno; representative from PPATK, Deputy for Analysis and Examination Danang Trihartono; representative from the Attorney General’s Office Jampidum, Deputy Head of Subdivision Pratut Muttaqien Harahap; Head of SKK Migas Djoko Siswanto; representative from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Edy Tarigan; and Director of Retail Marketing of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Eko Ricky Susanto.

Deputy Chief of National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Inspector General of Police Nunung Syaifudin, emphasised that the crackdown on the misuse of subsidised BBM and LPG is part of the law enforcement apparatus’s commitment to carrying out government directives to keep the distribution of subsidised energy on target.

“For the perpetrators, we urge them to immediately stop these illegal practices. We will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone involved, including rogue officials. Law enforcement will be carried out consistently and without tolerance. Such actions not only harm the state but also the public. We are not playing around; every violation will be firmly addressed to protect the public’s rights to subsidised energy,” said Nunung.

Meanwhile, Director of Tipidter Bareskrim POLRI, Brigadier General of Police Moh. Irhamni, revealed that during the period from 2025 to 2026, Bareskrim POLRI along with regional police headquarters have conducted intensive law enforcement against the misuse of subsidised BBM and LPG throughout Indonesia.

“The modus operandi of the perpetrators includes repeated purchases of subsidised BBM at several petrol stations, then stockpiling and reselling it to industries at higher prices, using modified trucks, and fake licence plates to bypass barcodes. For subsidised LPG, the modus is transferring the contents of 3 kg cylinders to 12 kg or 50 kg cylinders to sell as non-subsidised,” revealed Irhamni.

Irhamni added that the success of this uncovering is inseparable from cross-sector synergy and collaboration in supervising and enforcing the law on subsidised energy distribution.

“This success is the result of solid synergy and collaboration between POLRI and the TNI, Attorney General’s Office, PPATK, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Pertamina, SKK Migas, BPH Migas, as well as public support. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen this cooperation to improve supervision, prevention, and crackdowns on all forms of crime in the energy sector,” concluded Irhamni.

On the same occasion, Director of Retail Marketing of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Eko Ricky Susanto, affirmed that Pertamina Patra Niaga supports and appreciates law enforcement agencies in cracking down on the misuse of subsidised BBM and LPG. Eko Ricky stated that subsidies must be channelled according to their purpose so that they are truly received by entitled communities.

“We are very grateful and support the efforts carried out by the Indonesian National Police and also the TNI, especially in firmly cracking down and fully supporting the law enforcement process against parties or rogue elements involved in illegal practices. We are committed to continuing to synergise with POLRI and the TNI in law enforcement against misuse and improper distribution of BBM and LPG,” said Eko.

Eko emphasised that Pertamina Patra Niaga is fully committed to ensuring the distribution of subsidised BBM and 3 kg LPG runs according to regulations and on target, and does not tolerate any deviations at the distribution level.

“Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to maintaining the distribution and channelling of subsidised BBM and 3 kg LPG according to regulations. We have carried out various efforts in supervision and monitoring of our partners and distributing institutions. If violations are proven, they will of course be decided criminally under applicable law. In addition, we will also impose firm sanctions, ranging from guidance to Termination of Business Relations (PHU),” stressed Eko.
