Pertamina Patra Niaga and Government Review Energy Supply Readiness in Makassar
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, together with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (BPH Migas), conducted inspections as part of the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force to ensure energy supply readiness and reliability in South Sulawesi ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H on Friday, 13 March.
The inspections covered several strategic energy infrastructure facilities, including the Hasanuddin Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT), the Integrated Terminal Makassar, the Patra Trading Liquefied Petroleum Gas Bulk Loading and Transportation Station (SPPBE), and fuel station 74.901.15 Samratulangi. Through this activity, Pertamina Patra Niaga and the government ensured that all fuel, LPG, and aviation fuel distribution infrastructure in South Sulawesi was ready to serve public needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, whilst maintaining reliable energy supply to eastern Indonesia.
The event was attended by Muhammad Mahmud Azhar Lubis, Special Staff to the ESDM Minister for Investment and Economics, BPH Migas Committee members Harya Adityawarman and Hasbi Anshory, National Energy Council member Johni Jonatan Numberi, and Pertamina Patra Niaga management including Commissioner Bambang Suswantono, Corporate Marketing Director Alimuddin Baso, Institutional and Compliance Director Kadek Ambara Jaya, and Transformation, Digitalisation, and Sustainability Director Tenny Elfrida.
During the inspections, commissioners, directors of Pertamina Patra Niaga, and stakeholders directly observed the readiness of energy distribution infrastructure and conducted quality and quantity checks of fuel products at stations to ensure that products provided to the public met established standards.
Muhammad Mahmud Azhar Lubis stated that the government, together with all energy stakeholders, was ensuring energy supply readiness for the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr. “We from the ESDM Ramadan Eid Task Force came to Makassar city to verify the availability of fuel, as well as electricity and LPG, to confirm that all infrastructure and supplies are secure for the Eid period when there will be significant holiday travel and tourist movements,” he said.
The ministerial staff added that field checks indicated energy supplies were in adequate and sufficient condition. “We have checked the availability of LPG and fuel, which are sufficient. We hope consumers also feel secure and do not need to stockpile large amounts,” Mahmud explained.
Alimuddin Baso, Corporate Marketing Director at Pertamina Patra Niaga, explained that the company had established a Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 Task Force to ensure energy services to the public remained optimal. “We have formed a Ramadan and Eid Task Force and we ensure that our services during Ramadan and Eid will be fully available. We want to ensure that those on holiday are well served,” Alimuddin said.
Alimuddin also explained the importance of the Integrated Terminal Makassar’s role for eastern Indonesia in supporting national energy distribution, particularly in the Sulawesi region. “Nearly 60 per cent of fuel backbone supply comes from the east, specifically in Sulawesi from here,” he added.
Beyond ensuring fuel and LPG distribution readiness, Pertamina Patra Niaga also reviewed aviation fuel service readiness at the Hasanuddin Aviation Fuel Terminal, given that Sultan Hasanuddin Airport is one of the main aviation hubs in eastern Indonesia.
Inspections continued on Saturday, 14 March at fuel station 74.902.32 Urip Sumoharjo in Makassar, including direct observation of LPG facility operations within the station area and customer engagement. These visits aimed to ensure fuel and LPG distribution to the public remained smooth, whilst directly reviewing field service operations ahead of increased public mobility during the Eid holiday exodus.
During Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, Pertamina fuel stations in Makassar received positive feedback from residents. “While refuelling, I haven’t encountered any issues. The service is good. Especially for Pertamax, there is no long queue; I get filled up right away,” said Enal at fuel station 74.901.15 Samratulangi.
Another customer, Muhammad Fadli, expressed satisfaction with the fuel station service, finding it friendly and convenient. “I am satisfied with the service; the operators are very friendly. Finding fuel is also very easy,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dewi Astuti, a customer at fuel station 74.902.32 Urip Sumoharjo, also appreciated the convenience provided by Pertamina. “So far, Pertamina has made things convenient for us when we want to refuel. We can pray in a clean area, and the toilets are adequate. Especially now with the holiday exodus ahead of Eid, it is very helpful,” she said.
