Pertamina: Oil Tankers Not Only Transit Hormuz Strait, Hundreds of Others Continue Operations
BANDUNG — PT Pertamina has ensured that supplies of fuel and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) in West Java remain secure and available for the flow of people travelling home and returning after the 2026 Lebaran holiday. The public has been urged not to engage in panic buying.
Susanto August Satria, Area Manager for Communication, Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Pertamina’s Java region office, stated that fuel and LPG stocks are in a secure condition, sufficiently stocked and readily available. As such, the public has been advised against the need for panic buying.
“I can confirm that fuel and LPG stocks are in a safe, sufficient and available condition. The public does not need to engage in panic buying,” he said on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
He stated that the public is expected to be more careful and thorough in reading news reports that could potentially be hoaxes. Satria noted that there is no supply disruption at the Hormuz Strait resulting from the Iran-Israel-America conflict.
“I can assure you that there is no supply disruption,” he said.
Satria explained that oil tankers carrying fuel do not only transit through the Hormuz Strait, with hundreds of other vessels continuing regular operations through alternative shipping routes, ensuring consistent supply to meet domestic demand.
