Pertamina-mentored MSMEs achieve double turnover at SMEXPO Ramadan 2026
INFO NASIONAL - The Ramadan momentum has brought blessings to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nurtured by PT Pertamina (Persero). Through SMEXPO Ramadan 2026, a number of Pertamina-mentored MSMEs recorded a significant rise in turnover, up to double that of ordinary days. SMEXPO Ramadan, held at Grha Pertamina Jakarta from 2 to 6 March 2026, showcased around 20 Pertamina-mentored MSMEs with a range of flagship products, from fashion and crafts to food and beverages relevant to the Ramadan period. Rudi Ariffianto, Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility & SMEPP Management at Pertamina, said SMEXPO is one of Pertamina’s efforts to broaden market access for its mentored MSMEs.
“Through SMEXPO Ramadan, Pertamina aims to provide space for the mentored MSMEs to introduce their products to the public and to boost sales, especially during Ramadan when consumer demand rises,” Rudi said.
According to Rudi, the presence of SMEXPO not only helps promote MSME products but also drives income growth that ultimately strengthens local economies. “When MSMEs experience higher sales, the impact is felt by their workers and families. This shows that empowering MSMEs can create a multiplier effect for the economy,” he said.
Pertamina runs integrated MSME development through the Pertamina UMK Academy, which offers training ranging from business management, financial management, product pricing, to digital marketing strategies. In addition, Pertamina also facilitates MSMEs to obtain product certifications such as halal, BPOM, and international standards such as HACCP and GACC to boost competitiveness in national and global markets.
Muhammad Baron, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Pertamina, added that empowering MSMEs is part of Pertamina’s commitment to delivering the energy of goodness to the community. “SMEXPO is a collaborative space that brings together MSMEs with customers so they can grow, move up a level, and become more competitive,” Baron said.
Baron emphasised that Pertamina continues to push for mentored MSMEs to broaden their market reach, including through digital platforms and export opportunities. “Through various ongoing mentoring programmes, Pertamina hopes the mentored MSMEs will grow stronger and make a tangible contribution to Indonesia’s economy,” Baron said.
One of the mentored MSMEs feeling positive impacts is Meat Story, a producer of frozen meat products such as frozen meatballs and homemade sausages. Meat Story, based in Keranggan, Cibubur, has been a Pertamina Mentored Partner since 2024 and has received support ranging from business coaching to production equipment grants. “Since becoming a Pertamina Mentored Partner, we have received substantial support, from business management and networking to equipment such as a vacuum chamber for packaging our products,” said Hilda.
In addition to Meat Story, mukena producer Shokha has also benefited from Pertamina’s mentoring. With a production capacity of up to 1,000 mukenas per month and marketing in cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar, Shokha reported sales growth of around 20 percent after becoming a Pertamina mentored partner. “Besides higher sales, we have also received various offline and online trainings that have helped improve our ability to manage the business,” said Shofiya.
As a leading company in the energy transition, Pertamina is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target and continues to drive programmes directly impacting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All these efforts align with Pertamina’s transformation focused on governance, public service, business sustainability and environment, applying Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across Pertamina’s business lines and operations.
