Pertamina increases liquefied petroleum gas supply by 19.5 per cent in West Sumatra ahead of Eid 2026
Padang, West Sumatra (ANTARA) — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut) has increased liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply by 19.5 per cent, equivalent to 2,400 metric tonnes, to meet public demand in West Sumatra Province ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah.
“This LPG increase is to support public needs which are expected to rise significantly during Eid,” said Sales Area Manager Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagut West Sumatra Region Fakhri Rizal in Padang, West Sumatra, on Sunday.
By Saturday (14 March 2026), Pertamina Sumbagut had already increased LPG supply by between 10 and 15 per cent from normal requirements in the West Sumatra region.
Pertamina recorded that West Sumatra’s LPG requirement for March 2026 stands at 14,000 metric tonnes.
Pertamina Sumbagut has also ensured that all bulk LPG filling stations (SPBE) in West Sumatra remain operational during the holiday period.
“The SPBE stations will continue operating, including during Nyepi Day, with full operations continuing until 22 March 2026,” said Fakhri.
With the LPG supply increase of 19.5 per cent, Pertamina has urged the public not to make excessive purchases and not to worry about the availability of three-kilogramme LPG cylinders or non-subsidised Bright Gas products.
Additionally, Pertamina Sumbagut has ensured coordination with 173 subsidised and non-subsidised LPG agents ready to serve public needs during Eid.
Pertamina has also encouraged local authorities and relevant agencies to assist in monitoring LPG retail prices at both wholesale and retail levels.
“Pertamina will continue monitoring LPG sales at authorised wholesale centres in accordance with the maximum retail price,” said Fakhri.
