Pertamina Commissioners Inspect Fuel and LPG Distribution in Sorong, Ensuring Supply Stability
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SORONG – Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nanik S Deyang and Hasan Nasbi, conducted a working visit to Southwest Papua to ensure the availability and distribution of energy, particularly fuel (BBM) and LPG, in the Sorong city area is running smoothly.
The inspection was carried out at the COCO 81 984 01 fuel station and the non-subsidised LPG agent PT Wilis Trijaya Mandiri on Tuesday, 21 April 2026. Hasan stated that, overall, services at the COCO 81 984 01 fuel station on Jalan Ahmad Yani in Sorong city are running well, although there are still several areas for improvement.
“Overall, it is running well, there are no queues and the distribution of subsidised fuel is also on target. However, there are several things that need to be improved by Patra Niaga, such as the toilet partition, underground tank repairs, and several other SOPs,” he said.
The group then visited the non-subsidised LPG agent PT Wilis Trijaya Mandiri. From the monitoring results, the LPG supply at the agent was deemed safe with no shortages. He assured that, overall, the availability of fuel and LPG in Southwest Papua remains maintained.
“There is no shortage at this agent, supplies are available even for the next 15 days and before they run out, new supplies will arrive. Insya Allah, the energy supply in this region can continue to be fulfilled and maintained by Pertamina Patra Niaga,” added Hasan.
Meanwhile, Nanik S Deyang highlighted the condition of the community, which is deemed calm and conducive amid the rise in fuel and LPG prices. Nevertheless, the stability of fuel prices in Papua has a positive impact on the socio-economic condition of the community.
She also appreciated the efforts of the government and Pertamina in keeping prices stable. According to her, the community is very calm, with no unrest. The single-price fuel programme is extraordinary, especially in eastern regions like Papua.
“The single-price fuel alone is already hard work. While fuel prices rise in other countries, Indonesia is still holding steady. Pertamina is truly carrying out its function as an agent of development; I am pleased that Pertamina provides peace of mind and security for the community,” said Nanik.
She also revealed that the fuel stock resilience level in Sorong is even higher than in Java regions. With safe supply conditions and controlled distribution, Pertamina is optimistic that the energy needs of the community in Southwest Papua can continue to be met well.
“In Java, stocks are around 10 days, while in Sorong it can reach 20 days. This provides a sense of security for the community; hopefully not only in Sorong, but the stock is safe throughout Papua,” she hoped.
As a leading company in the energy transition sector, Pertamina is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target and continues to promote programmes that directly impact the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
All these efforts align with Pertamina’s transformation oriented towards governance, public services, business sustainability and the environment, by applying Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across all business lines and operations of Pertamina.
