Pertamina Boosts 3 kg LPG Supply in Greater Banyumas Ahead of Ramadan
Purwokerto (ANTARA) — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Central Java Regional Division (JBT), is distributing an additional 69,440 cylinders of 3-kilogram LPG to the Greater Banyumas area ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, in anticipation of a spike in household energy demand.
“We are ensuring this supplementary allocation maintains reliable stock levels in the field, particularly at distribution depots, so the public need not worry about the availability of 3 kg LPG during Ramadan,” said Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager for Communication Relations and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Regional Division, when contacted from Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Tuesday.
According to Taufiq, the additional supply forms part of a broader supplementary distribution of 1.1 million cylinders of 3 kg LPG — equivalent to 3,544 metric tonnes — allocated for Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), with distribution commencing on Tuesday.
Of the total supplementary allocation, 144,000 cylinders have been earmarked for the Yogyakarta region, whilst more than one million cylinders are being channelled to Central Java.
“This volume is equivalent to 75 per cent more than normal daily distribution,” he said.
Taufiq further explained that the supplementary 3 kg LPG allocation for Greater Banyumas is spread across five regencies: Banyumas Regency with 18,480 cylinders, Cilacap Regency with 16,800 cylinders, Banjarnegara Regency with 10,080 cylinders, Purbalingga Regency with 11,760 cylinders, and Kebumen Regency with 12,320 cylinders.
“This supply increase has been carried out to maintain the stability of energy distribution whilst also supporting inflation control and public purchasing power during Ramadan, when LPG consumption tends to rise,” he said.
Taufiq also urged financially able consumers to switch to non-subsidised LPG products such as Bright Gas in 5.5 kg and 12 kg sizes, so that the subsidised 3 kg LPG remains properly targeted at those who need it most. He encouraged the public to purchase LPG from official distribution depots at the government-set maximum retail price (HET).
